Within the scope of the 2025–2026 Academic Year, tryouts will be held for the university sports teams operating under the Directorate of Health, Culture, and Sports. Applications will primarily be accepted for the sports branches listed on the posters; however, applications may also be submitted for sports branches not included in the announcement. If a sufficient number of applications is received, the establishment of teams in the relevant branches will be considered.
General Application Requirements
Applicants must be associate degree, undergraduate, or graduate students of OSTİM Technical University and hold active student status. They must be able to participate regularly in team training sessions and competitions, have no disciplinary record, be medically fit to engage in sports, and meet the sport-specific performance requirements that may be requested depending on the branch. If deemed necessary, applicants may be asked to submit an athletic résumé, sports license, or certificates of achievement.
Sports Branches for Tryouts
Basketball, Volleyball, Taekwondo, Wrestling, Arm Wrestling, Folk Dances, Archery, Athletics, Billiards, Sport Drone Racing, Tennis, and Rowing.
Working Days and Hours
The training days and hours of students selected for the teams will be determined at a later stage by the coach and the Sports Coordination Office, taking into account the athletes’ course schedules. Attendance is mandatory for at least two days per week across all sports branches; if deemed necessary, a third day of training may also be scheduled.
Training Facilities
The Basketball Team will conduct its training sessions at Çaba Academy Sports Hall, while the Volleyball Team will train at the Young Players Sports Club Hall. Training sessions for the Taekwondo, Wrestling, Arm Wrestling, and Folk Dance teams will be held at the university’s own facilities. The training venues for the Archery, Athletics, Billiards, Sport Drone, Tennis, and Rowing teams will be determined at facilities designated by the university after the teams are formed and will be communicated to the students accordingly.
Application Procedure
In order to be eligible to join the university sports teams, students must meet the application requirements of the relevant sports branch and submit their application in person to the Sports Coordination Office of the Directorate of Health, Culture, and Sports or to the University Fitness Center.
Other Sports Branches
Applications may also be submitted for sports branches other than those listed above. If a sufficient number of applications is received, the establishment of teams in the relevant branches will be considered.
